L&T Partners to Install Walk-in CT Scan Facility at Mumbai COVID-19 Hospital. Recently L&T’s CSR function joined hands with Wipro GE Healthcare, PNB Housing Finance, SNC-Lavalin to help COVID-19 patients get a CT scan at a unique walk-in facility installed at the 1,000-bed temporary COVID-19 hospital at Bandra Kurla Complex in Mumbai.
L&T’s Vadodara Heavy Engineering Works (VHEW), recently launched a new CSR initiative - a unique programme to enhance the skill level of students through an NGO named Shroff Foundation Trust (SFT) which has its Training Facility at VIVEC (Vivekanand Institute of Vocational & Entrepreneurial Competence).
Our flagship CSR program for imparting STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) education was launched recently at Kavi Dulakag Primary School, NPSS, Vadodara. The project, ‘Engineering Futures’, launched in collaboration with the American India Foundation will extend to 25 Schools of Gujarat Government in Vadodara City & District, and help close to 3426 students of 6th, 7th and 8th standard. This flagship program will deliver easy-to-understand, technology-driven, project-based learning by well-trained teachers.
L&T CSR enhances infrastructure at 12 Government Schools in Coimbatore With Education as one of the key focus areas of L&T’s CSR efforts, L&T has several year-long initiatives at multiple locations across India to enhance the quality of education at Government run schools.
A few months ago, Mr A.M. Naik, was approached by “Riddhi Siddhi Adarsh Gram Vikas Mandal-Village Chondha”, Taluka Vansada, District Navsari, Gujarat for support in making their village an ‘Adarsh Village’. During focussed Group Discussions with the community members one of the key needs that emerged was for repairing of four anganwadis in the village and setting up of Science and Computer Labs in the local high school.
Among the many ‘marine ecosystem and migratory bird friendly’ measures adopted at the Mumbai Trans Harbour Link project site is a special lighting system that causes minimal disturbance to birds & marine life, designed in consultation with an ornithologist.
